Why give dog a name? What is in a name?
“What ever you call your dog it bears” goes the common saying. However, names
Go a long way to detecting what the dog will be: its behavior, personality and even temperament. This is because it will determine your passion and love for him, which will in turn influence how much care the dog receives from you. Names have psychological effects on pets, dogs inclusive.
Names are not just given to dogs. There are some points that you must have in mind when you want name dogs. These include:

a. Specie
b. Dog’s name must be easily be pronounce, and one that can make the dog learn fast. Experts say that two syllable words are better, example: Rocky
c. Should match the personality type of your dog, or the personality you expect of your dog.
d. It should be of neutral tone

Free Dog Training Tips

Training your dog at home can be a great way to save time and money. When you are acquainted with some dog training skills, you will saving yourself some cost from professional trainers. I personally do not believe that there is something to hard in training your dog at home. All you need to do is to take some time off your schedule and learn some basic tips on dog training. Or if you can, pick one of the Dog Training Guides available in some shops. However, here are some of these tips:
(1) Praise Method is Better than Punishment Method.
The so-called professional dog trainers destroy the temperament of the dog at the early phase of development through hard and stringent measures applied in dog training. I do not share their view. The guiding principle is to build trust and respect into your dog at a very nascent stage. Once this is properly done, every other instructional training follows smoothly. I do not believe in rules, when it comes to training a dog. But I have only one rule: Do not punish your dog unless he fully understands why he is being punished. And in all, mutual love and respect should guide dog training. Bear this in mind as well, punishment rarely, works because often time, dogs don not connect punishment with the right action expected of him. I have discovered that dogs are indispensable member of the family. I refer to my dog as HE. He is everything to me. He provides me with a pal to interact and “share ideas with”. He is always a fun-filled companion. My dog is a firm source of security and protection, that is why the family sees him as a constant source of joy: always welcoming, sensitive and understands the feelings and sentiments of all members of the family. A well bred dog is a man’s best friend.

In as much as it is a joyful experience, Owning a dog requires some cares:

a) Comfortable Living Space: Your companion would need a living space where he can lie and have some privacy away from some pests, from some unnecessary disturbances from children and visitors. He needs a “den” where he sleeps. A puppy would need 20 hour sleep a day.

b) Nutrition: Placing your dog on a balanced diet is very important. A malnutrioned dog is never good looking. Seek the advice of your veterinarian as regards with regards to this. Avoid overweight in him. Serve him water, food and water with clean containers. Punctuality in feeding is good.

c) Vacinate Your Dog: Generally vaccination controls the spread of bacterial and viral disease that could contacted via unvaccinated and infected or sick animals. Rabbies is the most important of dog vaccines and is required by law. Find out details from your vertinary personnel. Other vaccines like Giardia, Lyme’s disease, Leptospirosis, etc.

d) Regular Vertinary Check Up: Regular health check up can be very preventive to dog killer diseases. This of course will enable the vet to check abnormalities in heart beat, colour of the eyes, legs, etc. Ticks attacks are easily detected and eliminated. Generally, vetinerians
